Google Education - a field trip

Pt England staff were lucky to have a staff meeting with a difference this week.  Our whole staff made the journey into Auckland CBD to the offices of Google NZ.

We were hosted by Steve Smith Program Manager - Google for Education.  Steve took us through a presentation outlining some of the newest developments in Google education products.  

We heard about the many learning design tools - such as screen recorder which allows students to record their desktops and has a built in transcribe function.  This also has some great editing functions as well.

Google Earth has added a timelapse option which shows the transformation of Tamaki Makaurau - a great prompt for student discussion.

Meet has had some impressive upgrades  including Meet in docs, slides and sheets, a translate and transcribe function.
