Module 1 Establishing Professional Identity and Purpose
The LSC role is shaped not just by systems and frameworks, but by your values, beliefs, and how you show up in complex situations.
Course 1: Establishing Professional Identity and Purpose, asked you to explore your beliefs and values around learning support and consider the skills required to fulfil your role as a LSC.
Stepping into the LSC role
our role is to strengthen systems and capability. It does not replace classroom teaching or specialist services.
Effective LSC practice is grounded in clarity of role, collaboration, and purposeful use of data – not taking on responsibility in isolation.
The skills within the LSC Matrix are designed to strengthen your role as a connector when advocating for the voices and agency of learners and their whānau.
The LSC role – achievement and data in action
Applying achievement and attendance data across the wider school can affect better outcomes for all learners. Not just those with additional needs.
Data application is cyclical. LSCs collect, analyse, act, and then review impact to inform next steps.
