Learning to be an LSC - my professional inquiry 2026.

The heart of a Learning Support Co-ordinators role is to support students to get the right help earlier and make it easier for families to understand and access learning support at school.  

To enable me to achieve this outcome I will be undertaking a number of learning opportunities to further my understanding of the role of an LSC, and to broaden my knowledge of the pedagogy of inclusive education.

First and foremost I will be completing the 3 Ministry of Education  LSC Induction Modules.

These will form the core of my inquiry this year as I take the information and skills learnt in each module and bring it life in my daily mahi.  This gives rise to the following inquiry questions;

• How can I in the role of PES Learning Support Co-ordinator support students to get the right help earlier?
• How can I make it easier for whanau to understand and access learning support for their tamariki?

These are big questions which I will unpack and reflect on in my future posts.
