MIT HUI 2022 - The Journey begins

 

The coromandel sun shone down on the MIT 2022 cohort as we met for the first time.  Surrounded by the sounds of bird song and cicada's we were able to meet each away from the daily concerns of our classrooms.  Our cohort consists of seven teachers from broad teaching contexts including primary, secondary and areas schools.  Our Maniakalani hosts Dorothy, Jenny and Matt, made us sure we were comfortable, well nourished and intellectually challenged on our two day getaway.  

Our first session was an overview of the Manaiakalani Education Trust, it s history and commitment to empowering teachers through programmes such as Digital Fluency Intensive, Class on Air and of course  MIT.  I felt very privileged to have been chosen to work with these awesome people and am really looking forward to the year ahead.
